Our name P.A.G.E is an acronym that stands for Poverty Alleviation through Global Education and Efforts. The word “page” came from pager which (often called a beeper) is a simple personal telecommunications device for short messages or SMS. This signifies our primary objective which is sending text messages.
Presently more than 103 million use text enabled phones in Nigeria
Our logo shown above shows a poor smiling boy holding a modern day cell phone (Pager). This symbolizes the joy and relief we bring as result of the free information we offer the poor through text messages and voice messages.
Our motto: “Paging out poverty” implies the use of text messaging to fight poverty.
We (PAGE Initiative) believe that "educating people to feed themselves and earning income by feeding others, is an inevitable step to take in realizing Nigerian's Vision 20:2020 dream and the United Nation's Millennium Development goals".
How we operate
You may ask, how does modern day cell phone or short message service (SMS) alleviate poverty?
Answer: We do not send text messages without the following:
- Partner with an existing agro-industrial, agri-business project that have prospect of alleviating poverty and generating jobs in the rural areas, or state own agricultural initiative like Agric-YES of the
- Assist the project to grow by introducing simple machines, innovative ideas that will greatly expand farm output and income.
- With the permission of the project owner, we get women groups and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) involved.
- Periodic agri-business SMS are sent to the public about the projects, products, services, opportunities any other relevant information.

Legal status and license
Poverty Alleviation through Global Education and Efforts Initiative; it is a registrared Non-governmental Organization under the Federal Government of Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission on 18th November 2011 with the reference CAC/IT/NO 47621.
Aims and Objectives
Primarily Poverty Alleviation through Global Education and Efforts (P.A.G.E Initiative) use short message service (SMS) to inform/enlighten/educate people on:
- Agro-business ideas,
- How and where to get start up funds,
- Enlighten the public about other agencies that help Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs), self employment and youth empowerment.
Secondarily (P.A.G.E initiative) will be engaged in:
- Install free e-libraries with hotspots and computers in libraries.
- Liaising and assisting local and state governments in their alleviating poverty and youth employment programs and initiatives.
- Get the public to invest in large scale farming.
- To eradicate poverty through the education of various entrepreneurial skills and ideas, through the use of text messages, computers (Computer Aided Learning) installed digital libraries with thousand of free e-books and entrepreneurial materials, presentations, and lectures.
- To reduce unemployment by involving investors in building large farms and employing them, also by training them to by consultants on food production, processing and preservation.
- To increase food security by setting up agro-processing centers.
- To make our research institutes economically viable by advertising and promoting there research works, and products. Thus making them less dependent on government funds.
- To train people on fabricating simple mechanical devices.
- To inform and enlighten the public using text messages on:
- Other governmental and none government agencies as regards unemployment and entrepreneurship.

- Publicize the our research institutes
